What options are required to install linux?

Hello, I want to switch from Windows to linux, since I have a rather weak netbook, I decided to choose a distribution kit that is easier, but when I looked at the minimum requirements, either the screen resolution needed more or the processor frequency.
I want to know if it is possible to install linux if my netbook does not fit for some reason?

This is a common misconception.
Linux by itself, and even in the hands of a teapot, will not solve the problem of brakes - it may even exacerbate.
Especially modern distributions, designed for resources that this netbook does not and will not have.

Linux can be installed on very undemanding hardware, but you will need to select the right programs and environment. First, describe what you own. In any case, try xubuntu. Or debian with xfce environment.

For a beginner - install ubuntu 18.04 or Mint on the same basis.
Desktop (environment) - lxde.
Actually xubuntu is what it is

The best option is to sit on win8, this system works well on old hardware. If you want so much - any distro on LXDE, it makes no sense to look at other DEs. There is not much to say about the distribution, the choice is huge, but I advise you to look at debian, the software is not the latest, but it is reliable.
Do not chase the performance of the OS, when you open the browser, the entire gain is multiplied by 0.
