I wanted to ask local Linux users: has anyone used Deepin or ElementaryOS? How do you like them? What's better? How do they compare to Ubuntu?

Why is Ubuntu better than Ubuntu?
Yes, Ubuntu is no better than Ubuntu.
Both are not independent distributions, but Ubuntu, to which, on the one hand, they screwed the theme to Gnome, and on the other, they screwed some kind of their own DE.
And so it is Ubuntu.

I used Elementary OS as my main OS at home for a long time. Here's what I can say:
+ This is the only Ubuntu-based distro that did not hang my old netbook (Mint, Lubuntu, Xubuntu etc failed this point)
+ "Non-boring wallpapers". That is a pretty nice interface.
+ It's still Ubuntu. So it suits everyone: both for me for development and for my wife for her work tasks
- An attempt to tie the Mac interface to Linux still failed. You understand this when you turn on the poppy for the first time.
- I had the Luna version - it's based on 12.04. With all the resulting package versions, etc. It wasn't always convenient.
- Non-trivial setting. From the settings box, it is generally available at a minimum, even there are no hotkeys. This, of course, is eliminated in 15 minutes, but still.

I used Ubuntu and ElementaryOS, I stopped at the second one, simply because of convenience, and so Deepin that ElementaryOS is the same Ubuntu , just choose what you like best.

I tried Elementary OS (as part of the search for something easy and pleasant). In the end, everything failed - the poppy lawn was unsuccessful. No ease, only more problems. You need to look for all sorts of tweaks to add what is in the same ubuntu. However, like everything based on Ubuntu, it didn’t really fit. (offtopic: I decided to experiment with Fedora 21 and the third gnome ... So far the flight is normal. Everything suits. Even the third gnome, which was unusual at first, has eaten so much that on working computers with ubuntu 14.04 with the second gnome (the unit did not work) I constantly poke into the upper left injection))
