What modern backup solutions can be used instead of bacula/bareos?

Hello, there are several machines on Linux (mainly CentOS 7), a couple of machines on Windows. Now I backup certain directories (using certain masks) using Bareos. Works well, but something is missing. Flexibility or something. It seems that you are using some kind of medieval thing. What is now from the modern backup software? It is necessary to backup the internals (files (many), database), incremental is very desirable, maybe some interface.

thanks in advance

veeam, if you fit into the free version, or if the budget allows. And so is Bakula.

No one will answer you until you write - what kind of flexibility is missing.

For backup software, there is no concept of "fashionable-stylish-youthful" - these are not the same things. They must work. A backup that doesn't deploy at the most crucial moment is not a backup, it's an auto##trap :)
Virtual machines (as well as P2V) can be backed up via Nakivo. Paid. Not cheap. There is no free version. There is an incremental and a muzzle and flexibility - everything is there, which is not surprising.

https://www.duplicati.com/ - backup to the clouds.
I also use systemback - a cast of the entire Linux Mint system.

Try this cloud provider:
https://www.idrive.com/
https://www.backblaze.com/
If you are interested in software products, consider these options:

  • Cobian Backup - old man, but very peppy and reliable
  • UrBackup
