What makes VS so big?

I have never used an IDE before. Only Notepad++ or VS Code.

So. In a full studio, size scares me.

Why does an audio / video editor weigh a lot, programs for creating music, for creating games, editing photos - yes, I understand what is inside and where such weight comes from.

Please explain,

what is the difference between VS and VSCode, I read this,

namely what is contained inside VS, thanks to which new versions are going to take at least 18 GB for me, and old ones - 8?

by offering so much more out of the box.
if you try to make vsc closer to vs in terms of functionality, then it will also come out a lot.
and why do you need a full studio, if you can put only what you need?
