What is the use of Visual Studio for a solo developer in 2018?
Hello. Now there is a choice of platform Win/MacOS.
I work on the territory of C # and Web, I started coding with Visual Studio, but as I see the situation now, the same Atom serves well as an IDE.
So the question is, should you leave Visual Studio?

In general, I decided not to risk it in vain, I took a MacBook and, in addition, a second SSD for a PC, installed MacOS on a PC via DualBoot in Clover. I also pulled Windows on a MacBook by setting up a local Git and FTP server on a Raspberry Pi 3. ;)
Visual Studio is available on Win and Mac.
Visual Studio Code is also there.
Everywhere heaps of plugins, a matter of habit.
It makes no sense to leave, because. there will not be much profit either, only if on Rider.
Decades before Atom, Emacs and vi served well as IDEs.
And so far, many IT people consider them the best tools.
Unlike Atom, they don't slow down at least.
But full-fledged IDEs provide much better debugging capabilities. Which the best editors will never offer. And they allow you to work with a syntax tree, and not with text, which provides more complete hints.
