What linux to put for laptop with amd radeon 7500/7600 hd card?

Hello, tell me what linux distr. suitable for this laptop.
As I read that amd stopped supporting drivers for linux, and only open ones remained, but the problem is that it has been sitting on xubuntu 14.04 for more than a year, this version has proprietary drivers for this video card. The other day I bought a new ssd and decided to install xubuntu 18.04 in it, the interface started to lag very much, the video on youtube constantly slows down.
I would move back to 14.04, but I can’t find python 3.7.3 version for it, only 3.6.8. And many programs simply become outdated and are no longer updated, because support for ubuntu 14.04 itself has been stopped.

For AMD graphics cards since 16.04, you need a proprietary driver, in fact only when you need to use openCL. It is unlikely that with such a card you also need it on a note. =)
Well, not quite so everything with support. There are actually drivers, amdgpu-pro, only few people need them in practice in everyday work - they are no better than free ones in most functions (in particular, in 3d or video acceleration), where amd gave a lot.
Most likely, you have some problems with card recognition, and the problem is in working in soft rendering mode, and not in free drivers as such - everything is fine with them.
