Are you asking or are you advising?
It depends on who you want to work with.
If you want to do frontend - learn javascript and layout.
Do you want to do backend in web studios / startups - php/ruby/python/node.js + sql + nosql Finding
a job in php is quick and easy, everything else is as lucky
Do you want to do web in enterprise companies - java

I don't recommend learning php first.

Why is it interesting ... At first, you will be all the same shit-coding in php, in ruby, or in js.
javascript can be taken as the first language only because there is no particular alternative on the web (client side).
And so .... just poke your finger at the option that you like best. There is no difference at all.

toster.ru/user/Lesoglas/questions You already have about five questions of the same type, and you still haven't chosen? Take the first one that comes across and write hello world on it with ajax and send it to social networks. If you don't like it, move on to the next one.

If on the web it would be more logical to study the front-end toolbox - JS and stuff like that.

JavaScript definitely. This is the main language for the web, which any web developer (front or backend) must know. And then everything else.
