What language are computer viruses written in?

Good day everyone, this is a stupid question, but I can't find anything sensible on the Internet. Everywhere they write that it is in assembler, but it’s hard to believe that it’s only on it. I would very much like to practice writing a virus, especially since I am studying information security, the 3rd year and on this topic we are not going to read anything, I don’t expect a quick result in 3 days, I just would like to visually see how the virus multiplies, infects programs, integrates into the executable code and hides from the antivirus. Advise some books or resources, well, or at least the language in which direction you need to look, with programming familiar, but not low-level, 2 languages and both OOP.

They write on anything. Looking where and how to be implemented.
c, c++, .net, js are popular now.
To write a virus, you need to know not so much the language as the architecture and principles of operation of the operating system and the software into which you are going to be introduced.

Wiermaking is not a very good way to get acquainted with IS. And the point is not even the legality of this act, but the fact that there are not enough practical skills that can be applied in the future.

Do you need viruses? Another infection, in particular trojans and worms, is written in anything... C++, Java, C#. Choose any...
There are books on virusmaking, but they are probably obsolete... "Computer viruses and antiviruses. A programmer's view" Author: Konstantin Klimentiev.
