What knowledge is needed for an information security specialist?

Hello question readers. While I am studying at the university, I want to understand what is interesting for me, and I decided to delve into the field of information security. But I wonder where to start? It was not possible to enter the direction with the name "Information Security", so it's hard to figure out where to start. Where to start? What to study? How to apply in practice? There may be useful literature. Please provide answers to these questions.

Not exactly a direct answer, but still. It is better not to take an information security specialist from outside, but from trusted and reliable people, at least acquaintances. If something does not know and there is potential (and most importantly a smart head on his shoulders), then he will be able to learn. The question of motivation for this is a slightly different topic.

Look on the Internet, find out at your university a program in the specialty of information security. There will be a description of the training plan in the context of disciplines. further already look at the educational literature on disciplines. There are many good books on the subject in the public domain.
