It makes sense to transfer to the blockchain projects that have:
- a distributed source of information,
- a ban on changing anything that has entered the system,
- a connection (dependence) of previous documents with subsequent ones,
- public accessibility or the presence of open and closed parts.,
- unwillingness (inexpediency, impossibility) to concentrate the storage of information in one place.
Such projects include:
- storage of documents, for example - economic contracts,
- information about the ownership of real estate,
- medical histories,
- diplomas,
- cadastral information,
- information about family status, place of registration,
- "employment records" or information needed for pension funds, - vehicle
ownership (or repair history),
- storage of election progress/results information,
etc.

With benefit - the number of such projects is extremely small.
Blockchain is such a buzzword in general.
I agree with dmshar 's answer , but I want to add to it:
(and which, in my opinion, reduce the number of such projects to near-zero values):

  • The total number of transactions in the system should be measured in tens per second
(therefore, for example, it is not suitable for elections)

In IoT, blockchain is proposed to be used to update firmware and update device settings.
Secure messengers / chats - they already exist.
