What is this spam aimed at?

From time to time, this spam comes in:

Dear friend,
I am Barrister.Patrick Kokon, a solicitor at law and personal attorney to the deceased client a national of your country who was involved in an accident while on vacation with his family, leaving behind a huge amount to Eighteen million, Nine hundred and fifty thousand dollars with a leading bank here. This is very important business information since you both have the same
last name while my office provides you with proofs within the ambit of law and bank.

What can it be aimed at, because any spam has its own purpose. Advertising services viruses and what's here? Collection of information? Do they think that I will give them my data?

So this is the usual Nigerian heritage. It is aimed at the fact that the recipient will be interested in his share of the alleged inheritance, at some point in the process of correspondence he will relax and transfer money to the "lawyer" for some service, say, for translating the recipient's documents into the language of the High Elves.
