What is the Windows Jabber client that only receives messages?

Good afternoon, please tell me if there is any Jabber client for Windows OS, the functionality of which includes only receiving messages (+ something like pass-through authorization).
Why is it necessary to try out the XMPP protocol as a way to notify users on an offline Intranet network (i.e., of course, you can use mail, but XMPP seems to be an easier solution)
