What is the way to show events with news on one page?

The site has regular news with one date, there was a need to post news about some ongoing events there, which should display two dates at once (beginning and end). What solutions can you suggest? Is it possible to just add a second date to display in the standard joomla material or some plugin that can be integrated into the news.
