What is the virtualization tool for Ubuntu 12.04?

There is a server with Ubuntu 12. Databases are running on it, plus a dozen local desk services. Everything is barely holding on, and somehow there is no desire to touch the system. There is an option to use a virtual machine inside it where I want to put the latest ubuntu and all sorts of python bags. The question is what are the tools for creating a virtual machine that require minimal impact on the system itself (do not want to patch or rebuild the kernel or do other types of dances)?

@Astrohas

there are a lot of virtualization tools - vmware workstation, virtualbox, kvm ....
You yourself say - it barely keeps. And you want to barely raise virtualization on this. Is it to finally kill?
lift on the new server.
