I would recommend choosing and installing a monitoring system and using its preconfigured templates.
Of course, this is a drop in the ocean and without real experience there will still be gaps in server maintenance. But on the other hand, it will give a starting point from which you can already dance further.
For example Zabbix . It deploys quite easily and has many built-in templates (Linux itself, web server, database) with pre-installed triggers, which will allow you to take a comprehensive look at the server and draw some conclusions.
I think it's called OS monitoring. There are a lot of software: paid and free. There are those who, with a properly configured system, send messages via soap / SMS if something goes wrong.
