What is the stuffing for web hosting?

Hi all!
My question is more skeptical than carrying a very precise question.
I have a server:

Hewlett-Packard DL160G6
Xeon E5530 x2
128gb оперативки

I'm planning to create web site hosting
. What would you suggest for the operating system?
(Emphasis on the OS that I understand better? Ubuntu)
Maybe there is a distribution that is more secure?
Maybe it's worth dividing the server according to the VDS type and making Apache on 1 half, on 2 Nginx?
Or is it desirable not to divide the turnover?
Maybe some advice?
Advice about RAID?
DNS server tips?
Tips for allocating ram to a site?
Maybe suggestions for protection?

I raised it on Ubuntu 14.04, comrade on CentOS 6

You set up the protection yourself, at least start with fail2ban.

A friend has 2 in one, here's an example i.imgur.com/deho5S2.png

Raise your own, adjust.

I can set you up, he does it professionally, and I'm just an amateur. I'm learning from him ;)

It can also be explained in simple terms.
In general, most hosting companies use ISPs or other off-the-shelf solutions. It is too expensive to write your own now, and in conditions of great competition you will not earn anything.

And how about the Internet? And then after all, if the Internet is weak, then at least x10 xeons will not save
