What is the specific job of a cybersecurity specialist?

Please tell us what the SPECIFIC job of a cybersecurity specialist is. In terms of what you will have to code on (mostly), whether you will have to code at all, how often you will have to service different software (servers, programs, etc.).

At the moment I'm developing games, and I like programming, and, in principle, I'm interested in all sorts of hacker things, but I'm afraid that if I go into cybersecurity, then I will have to code to a minimum and, basically, serve servers, etc. ... I understand that 100% will have to be serviced, the question is in programming ...

Given the development of special areas. by cyber. and a game developer in Ukraine, what would you advise?

I really like game development, but after reading a lot of information about the fact that this and that, you can burn out, the product will not work, etc., there is a doubt: is this what I am doing?
I have been developing for half a year, and while there is time (grade 11), I need to finally decide what and where.

Kibezbez. Or gamedev?

Well, another reviewer of hacker romance has been drawn. Dude, IS is built on trust (since it is itself an area that controls the distribution of access rights, by definition, there are no standard "access rights" inside it), so they won't let you in on any significant information for a long time - until they make sure that the office can trust you.
And if you are mentally not very stable - it's better not to meddle here - IS, oddly enough, is not about computers, but about people . Especially if you are IB in a single person.
And to do it - you have to do what the management instructs and the office needs - and this can be anything, from setting up mikrotiks to an internal investigation of who is spreading rumors that discredit the office from the outside (in tyrnet, that is).
IS must know admin work - if you don't want to be one of those joke heroes that admins usually bully about security guards (and there are actually reasons for them) - because you will have to check their work
IS must know the law and have a good logic, to be a bit of a lawyer (at least to imagine how the judicial system, cops, prosecutors work - at least at the most general level)
IB must be able to write documentation. Documentation, all sorts of regulations, regulations, instructions, and so on - this is what he does all the time
IB should feel at home on any office server, whether it's Linux or Windows. The current Windows command line is so monstrous - Stallman is crying with envy :) PS drives :) (Hence the conclusion - you will have to write in bash for linux or PS / VBS for Windows)
IS should know the structure of the network, the location of the routers that protect it and the rules as the Symbol of Faith on them and be able to modify them through the console (yes, this is slowly creepy, but sometimes there is no other method)
IB should be a bit of a psychologist and remember that you can’t trust the
user subject to disclosure (because see the point about trust and sustainability). And even if you suddenlyfound out that the girl from the reception, which you secretly dream about - turns out to be as simple as three kopecks and will give herself up for rides in a foreign car - it will be impossible to share this knowledge with anyone :( you will have to live with him somehow :(
In normal times - an ordinary semi-administrative work between writing regulations, editing firewall rules, distributing proxy access groups, issuing certificates and peering in the SMP.

An infobez specialist primarily works with regulations and documents, often not touching either the development or the servers at all. Infobez, these are 80% documents. The rest is done by engineers of various specializations.

what is the SPECIFIC job of a cybersecurity specialist.

Oddly enough, it depends on where you work. And yes, in the countries of the former socialist bloc, this is 90% of paper work.
