What is the Skype alternative for video calls and screen sharing?
Can you please tell me an alternative to Skype for video calls (1 on 1) and screen sharing? If possible, a free solution. It would be nice to organize videos with multiple participants.

Tried a lot of software. As a result, we switched to trueconf. Requires free version. Meets requirements. The quality of video and sound is normal at a speed of 1.5-2 mbs. Iimport substitution + 1.
A very powerful thing. Everything is good on Linux https://zoom.us/
The wiki has a comparison of similar software https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_web_co...

Not so long ago there was a good alternative to Skype - ooVoo video messenger. He was able to show the desktop in dynamics, transfer files, allowed video conferencing up to 12 participants, had good image and sound quality. I used it for a couple of years, having switched to it from Skype, which just then went sour. But... ooVoo stepped on exactly the same rake as Skype: from version 3.7 it immediately jumped to version 7.0, which turned out to be completely non-functional, while the ability to use older versions was forcibly disabled. I had to go back to Skype...
So that leaves Tox. But it does not have a screen sharing in the stream, there is only the transfer of individual screenshots. But it does not require a central server and is well (according to rumors) encrypted - both of these factors are some guarantee against wiretapping.
I've been using it for a year and a half https://appear.in/
