What is the right way to learn SQL?

Hello
I decided to learn SQL , not having a special idea about all possible systems, until I settled on Microsoft SQL Server 2012 . Are there relevant sources on this topic for learning from the basics? And did I make the right choice?
As for Microsoft SQL Server 2012, the search on the Internet did not bring much success for this system.
So far, I have only come across video tutorials from the site www.specialist.ru. Course M10774 Creating queries in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 . I know that there is literature in English, but my level does not yet allow me to use it. I will be glad to any answers and responses.

Anyway, starting with Martin Greiber's "Understanding SQL" is the perfect book to get you started.

There is a good book:
Alan Bewley - Learning SQL, Symbol-Plus Publishing House, 2007.
There is more emphasis on MySQL, but this is not important yet. The main thing is that he writes well about SQL.
