What is the right way to ask HR for a delay in going to work?
Hello, in general, the situation is as follows: I have an offer from one company, but there are 2 more interviews ahead in others. In one company, a 3-stage interview, I passed the first stage, and the second will be next week, but the exact dates of the remaining stages are not known. In another company, it is not known how many stages there will be, since there was no contact other than an invitation to social security. The question is: how to ask for time from a company that has already given an offer?
My plans:
- Me: I have 2 more interviews, and based on their results, I will choose a company in which I would like to work.
Most likely HP will agree, but he can ask about the other 2 companies. One of them is quite famous in my city, and salaries in these 2 companies are half as high. Should I talk about these 2 companies, or say that it's personal. If so, how can you smooth out the corners so as not to leave an unpleasant impression. This is my first job experience, so please help with advice.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I decided to ask for a delay in going to work, if they agree, then ok. If not, then I will put all my strength into the further stages of the interviews. The company from which there is an offer is a small company that develops websites (I focus on Backend PHP). The rest are quite large companies with a large number of customers. I feel that if I go there, I will raise my skills much faster and better.
Thanks again to everyone for the really good advice.
Just say that it takes time to make a decision and that's it. This is a market, everyone understands everything. True, in this case they will continue to look for a candidate, since the vacancy needs to be filled and there is a risk that you will refuse, but here the risks are mutual)
If this is your first job, then most likely you will not be expected. The ability to put companies in the queue does not appear immediately.
Once I was called to a good company for a good place, but a week later I was called for a final interview in an even better place, right after discussing the test task.
I had to postpone the arrival of the first firm. The second company turned out to be a scam and they didn’t hire me (the ass burned like in a fairy tale), the first company hired another specialist this week and I was still unemployed for some time.
Am I sorry? No. Because I found a place many times cooler than the first two.
