What is the right practice in Django Rest Framework validation for backend and frontend?

I am writing on the backend using Django Rest Framework. And I can’t understand what validation should be for models and serialisers. And how to send a validation message to the front so that a message is displayed above each input field, why the user entered the data incorrectly. What are the best practices? Explain, please.
