What is the responsibility of language injections in phpstorm?

there they remove all the checkboxes to speed up the editor, but I don’t understand what exactly is turned off. Please explain in simple terms

These are embedded languages, i.e. if you have HTML in a string variable, then both highlighting and all checks will work for it.
