What is the reason for the impossibility of exiting emergency mode?

Hello. I installed a CentOS image on VirtualBox and connected the disk image of an additional guest OS. In the terminal, using the telinit 1 command, I switched to single user mode, after which it became impossible to exit it. I looked at the system logs and it turned out that /boot/vmlinuz-4.18.0-193.19.1.el8_2.x86_64 not found. Why could this happen?
