What is the principle of the cloud?

Cloud computing

People, explain to me, as a person with a non-technical education, how does the cloud work? Is this a normal distributed network of servers? Details are not necessary, then I'll look for it myself.

cloud - a virtual server in a cluster of iron servers.
The difference between a regular virtual server and a cloud virtual server is that you don’t know what kind of hardware your cloud VPS server is running on - it can easily migrate from one host to another, from one server to another or to a cluster of servers, it scales more transparently than a regular VPS.
From the client's point of view, roughly speaking, scaling is very flexible and transparent, and potentially unlimited.
