Software testing

What is the modern approach to web application testing?

In the web development team, which does not yet have a full-time tester, the question arose of the competent organization of the testing process (tablets are no longer a cake).
In this regard, I would like to understand the successful experience in the following issues:

  1. Test management systems
    • To what extent do testers favor/use such tools? What do you recommend?
    • Interested in the experience of their use by project managers - who used which ones, which ones did they like?

  2. To what extent should a tester be related to automated testing tools?
  3. In what format and who writes cases for testing - a manager, a developer, a tester himself based on a common TOR?

I will also be grateful for intelligible articles on the topic (there are fragments on Habré, nothing modern).

1. BDD tools. Sorry, it's convenient. But some TDD tools are used in this role. There are projects without tests, but such projects do not last long, they quickly rot. I would call the expediency of using tests in 2-3 man-months for ordinary web projects.
2. Must have a direct relationship.
3. If story bdd, then all three. If spec is bdd, then developer and testers.
