What is the maximum allowable twisted-pair wire resistance for a 1gbps connection?
Hello.
There is a twisted pair, veins - bimetallic (copper-plated). Wire length 14 meters. The resistance between the ends on different cores is from 10 to 25 ohms. If they connect a computer to a router, then the connection speed is limited to 100 Mbps. The ports in the router and PC are gigabit.
If you cut off a piece of a shorter length from this wire and connect a PC to the router with it, then the connection speed you need is 1 Gbps. Resistance on the conductors from 4 to 8 ohms.
I'm interested to know what is the maximum resistance in the core, so that the connection speed is 1 gigabit?
