What is the iron of the car made on?

What hardware does the car run on? Tesla, for example, has Linux installed on what does it run? Does it have a full motherboard? How then are the sensors connected to the COM port or what?
I imagine how this could be implemented on a Raspberry for example, because there is a GPIO there, but how is the control system implemented in a real machine?

In buses, for example, everything is extra. the equipment clings to the CAN bus ( https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controller_Area_Network ), but manufacturers adhere to standard solutions in part, inventing something of their own.
