What is the geometric kernel for?

Somehow I stumbled upon the so-called C3D geometric kernel ( ascon.ru/products/c3d ) I
became interested in what it is and what it is for
. It seems like I understood that this is for solving CAD problems.
But I was also told that not only CAD is possible, for example just programming and all that
Please tell me all its capabilities
I understand that it is not free and seems to be understood only for legal entities
But I'm just wondering what it is and what it serves

In short, this is an API for geometric modeling, close to CAD: solids, surfaces, curves, points and a bunch of possible operations on them.
