What is the future of node.js: growth or decline?

Hello!
When I studied at the university, I often tried various technologies "to taste" (but unfortunately I jumped from one to another like a grasshopper in Krylov's fable). One such technology was node.js. I remember one book I even managed to raise a miniature site. For certain reasons, I abandoned the whole thing and today I wanted to find out how node.js is progressing. In addition, I confess that now I am looking for my own path in programming in general.
My question is the same as in the title. I would be glad to know the opinion of professionals, those who have been dealing with js for a long time.
Sincerely ,
Almik

Feel free to take JavaScript and Node.js as the main tool. The split of the team can only cheer up the developers, the project is in open source. To get started:
learn.javascript.ru/nodejs-screencast
learn.javascript.ru
nodeschool.io

project split. Either only io.js will remain or the separation will spur the development of both technologies (competition and all that). This was the case with ffmpeg and libav.

I agree with @Timur Shemsedinov, take NodeJs and work.

Already shaken - in release 0.12 version V8 - August 2014, in addition, Joyent went to meet the community and introduced the organization https://www.joyent.com/blog/introducing-the-nodejs...
