What is the fee for a home server?
Good afternoon. For some time now, I have been cherishing the dream of setting up my own small home server. Here are my main requirements:
-SATA support -USB
support
-Support 3.5mm audio output
-Wi-Fi
-Ethernet (optional)
-Ability to install Linux with a simple DE without much dancing
-Ability to hold OwnCloud
-Ability to stream 1080p video over the network in stream mode
-CPU architecture, as far as I can tell, is not very important
-Low cost
Application: personal file storage, OwnCloud, torrents.
PS: I am a newbie in this case - I will be especially grateful for detailed answers.
Thanks in advance!

It is very interesting that you need wifi.
But you know better.
There are few options here from ready-made solutions
Intel NUC, Chromebox.
If you need a board, then you can look in the direction of GA-C1037UN, but there is no wifi there.
To be honest, I think that there is an even more interesting solution than GA-C1037UN, but I took it as a replacement for the router. For a qnap/synology replacement, I'm looking at an asrock Q87 based board
www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Q87M%20vPro and a son in law low TDP processor.
The board is good because it supports AMT technology, you can remotely connect to the machine and, for example, reinstall the OS (like ILO in HP).
I have the same plans. I decided not to suffer too much and buy a network storage. There for $350 you can buy not bad for 2 hard. And you don't have to suffer.
Didn't find what you were looking for?
