What is the error with database operation in java spring core?

I'm learning jdbc using the spring core example, and I can't figure out what the error is.
Intellij idea writes that there is an error in connecting to the database on the line where conn = dataSource.getConnection();
The example itself is taken from www.mkyong.com/spring/maven-spring-jdbc-example
