What is the difference between iOS and Android when working with the camera?

This question is of interest: in many iOS applications that use the camera, some action in it can take place on the fly (face swapping, scanning visitor, texts, etc).
But on android I have not seen a single application that would work with the camera image, as they say, on the fly. You always need to take a picture first, after which the program will process the photo.
Are the developers too lazy to work with the android camera, or does the OS itself have a problem with this? Is it even possible to implement this on a green robot?

You have a problem with Google. The developers and the system are all ok:
