What is the difference between applied mathematics and applied mathematics and computer science?
I have been working as a developer for 5 years now and I want to get a good mathematical base in order to have some freedom in choosing further development. In this regard, I decided to enter the second higher education. The choice fell on two faculties: CMC (applied mathematics and computer science - master.cmc.msu.ru/?q=ru/node/66 ) and FN12 Baumanka (applied mathematics - https://isot.bmstu.ru/2edu/edu -programs/010304/ ). What can you say about the differences between these two directions? Does mathematical preparation differ greatly for the worse in the case of choosing a VMC? And what can you say about these faculties in general?

It is better to ask a question about these faculties in the selection committee. Here, the chance that a person who studied there will see your question and share their experience is negligible. And your question also implies that the correct answer can only be given by someone who studied both there and there personally.
"Applied Mathematics and Computer Science" means that mathematics will be studied in the context of its application in computer science.
I can’t say about just “applied mathematics”, because mathematics has much more applications than just computer science.
And so, even in a city with a population of 50k, you can get an education no worse than a conditional Moscow State University.
