What is the correct way to update Vbulletin from 3.8.* to 5.2.1?

Good afternoon! I can't update the forum properly. A couple of attempts were unsuccessful - either krakozyabry, instead of Russian (Russian also updated), or it does not start at all. Can you share a good guide? Thank you.
