What is the best way to translate the word thunk into Russian?
thunk
"adapter" (a small section of code that performs conversion (for example, types) or provides a call to 32-bit code from 16-bit code and vice versa)
I want to write an article about this very thunk (or rather, about the cross-platform implementation of t. codes), but I don’t know what Russian term is best to use to designate a subject.

thunk
A small section of code that performs a translation or conversion during a call or indirection. For example, a thunk is used to change the size or type of function parameters when calling between 16-bit and 32-bit code.

The translation here is unambiguous, use it. See the link for more usage examples.
"a small section of code ... providing a call to 32-bit code from 16-bit code and vice versa" - in this sense, thunk was usually translated as "sledge". I don't know why, by the way...
So you copied the translation from Lingua anyway. Why not take advantage of it, since it is even listed in dictionaries?
a mapping of machine data from one system-specific form to another, usually for compatibility reasons, such as from 16-bit addresses to 32-bit to allow a 16-bit program to run on a 32-bit operating system.
The mapping of machine data from one system of a particular form to another, usually for compatibility reasons, such as from 16-bit addresses to 32-bit addresses, to allow 16-bit programs to run on a 32-bit operating system.
The keyword mapping - hence the translation options:
1. Type mapping
2. Type
mapping 3. Type conversion
IMHO, replacing with one word is incorrect, you can say a display or a mapper, but it will sound like anglicism.
Or, as an option, use English spelling in the text, explaining the essence in Russian.
