What is the best way to store a NodeJs project on the server?

Hey! I'm generally a PHP guy :) but I decided to learn NodeJs. Tell me, in what form to store the code on the server, assembled or source?

What do you mean by "store"? Create a git repository and store there. Upload the assembled assembly to the production.
