What is the best way to start migrating a store to OcStore?

I welcome everyone.
This is my first time with opencart. The question immediately arose, how best to transfer the store from another CMS to it? How to make it more correct / most compatible / less jambs? First, transfer the layout of the old site to the default functionality of the opencart, or it may be better to immediately put the necessary modules on the default template and only then try to transfer/integrate the layout of the old site into the opencart.

I would not recommend, having no experience with CMS, to immediately try to build a store on it from scratch.
In terms of order, it is perhaps more convenient to first install the modules, then do the layout. But not very important.

First, fully configure the functionality. It may turn out that it will be easier to take a ready-made template and not worry about transferring the layout
