What is the best way to start learning (and what) development for mobile platforms (Android)?

I have a little experience in writing databases in Visual Basic Access, I confidently programmed simple processes in python for post-production work.
I want to go into mobile applications and get lost in the amount of resources and information.
Connoisseurs, could you recommend good resources and manuals for learning (not from the very basics of programming)? And which language is more popular? Unless I said stupid, of course.
Thanks

Language - Java. Don't fall for cross-platform stuff like Titanium, Phonegap, Xamarin.
A good course from Google, on udacity: https://www.udacity.com/course/ud853
Understandable English, start from the basics, declare that some experience in OOP (including python) will be enough. They make you look for answers on your own.
At the same time, study Java, watch incomprehensible constructions.

Thanks for the direction.
I agree that I have bred the topic, but before this answer, I did not even know where to dig.
I'm new to this community and don't know if I can close this question.

Well, there are a million questions. the answer is always the same - with the creation of applications. The first - as in all textbooks: a calculator. Then a converter, an alarm clock, a matrix. And then you will see that you can do it more difficult .....
