What is the best way to show photos of different heights in the product?

Hello everyone.
I ran into a problem: in the online store, each product has several photos with different aspect ratios - from landscape to square. I understand that it is best to either have normal identical pictures initially, but, as they say, that the client has. Photos on the product page are displayed as a slider with thumbnails at the bottom. So far, I got out of the situation by adding a variable height of the slider, but I don’t like this solution due to the fact that a square photo stretches the entire module in height. Are there any best practices for such cases?
