The fact that Recuva will not be able to restore there is a big chance to restore R-Studio. There may be damaged photos for them, there is a separate program for recovering from broken photos.

TestDisk/PhotoRec as an option. It is advisable to boot from LiveCD and be sure to have a free partition / disk where to restore.

Let's start with the fact that you need to adhere to several key factors before you start data recovery:
Do not run the software from the disk from which the data was deleted;
Do not write or delete data to the disk from which the files were deleted;
If the disk from which the information was deleted is a system one, then do not start Windows - use boot disks, as I wrote

Regarding software - r-studio is a pretty good product.
