What is the best way to monitor the temperature in a server room?
Good afternoon!
The enterprise has a dedicated room with server and switching equipment (4 cabinets).
Ensuring the temperature regime is provided by two air conditioners with a capacity of 8 kW of cold (the operating modes are set the same, they work independently of each other).
Temperature control is carried out during working hours by technical personnel using a thermometer. During non-working hours there are no technical personnel (only the security of the enterprise, who can display some means of warning).
There are no means of automatic control and notification in case of critical temperature situations.
There are problems with IT financing.
We tend to choose a home-made solution based on the Dallas 18B20 sensor based on arduino and a relay through which the warning device will be connected.
Now we are studying and configuring the Zabbix monitoring system. We will try to do something else with it, but we need to enter temperature data into the system.
I would like to know who and how monitors and alerts in critical situations in server rooms. Interested in budget solutions.

on some server
sudo apt-get install lm-sensors
+ script on anything, then send mail/sms/carrier pigeons
I have Netping v3 SMS when high temperature sends SMS to a number.
I used a device called PING3, there are different sensors for it. Gives over snmp, you can catch it with zabbix. You can take a raspberry pi, buy sensors on Ali, and sketch out exporters for prometheus, I did this just for fun.
Laurent-T
The Laurent-T module (pronounced “Laurent-T”) is designed to collect and transmit readings from digital temperature sensors via an Ethernet (LAN) interface. Up to 20 Dallas DS18B20 sensors connected to a common 1-Wire bus are supported.
