What is the best way to make a round plastic part?
Hey Habr.
For one project, I need to make a part that looks something like this (I don’t have CAD software at hand, so I’ll describe it in words). Conical, and ideally closer to a bullet-shaped, monolithic blank made of light-violet translucent matte plastic, base diameter approximately 40 mm, height 70-80. Material suitable for fine finishing by household methods (drill, dremel, sandpaper, etc.) You can’t do this yourself - there is no lathe, material too :(
Actually, the question is: what kind of company can you contact about turning such a thing, and what can it cost approximately? Maybe this can be molded on a 3D printer, or some other methods besides turning?
Thanks in advance!

Find a suitable plastic bar, clamp it into a drill, fix the drill somehow (a clamp for a drill costs 300 rubles) and turn it like on a lathe. Plastic, not metal.
you can use a 3d printer (I don’t know about a transparent color) - there are a lot of offers on the internet. You can go to the nearest factory, ask the turner Vasya to make a blank for half a liter. Then fill with silicone compound for casting. And from plastic to cast as many copies as you like.
Try calling outdoor advertising agencies. They have a lot of things for such purposes (at least they do a lot of things from plastic).
You can buy plexiglass (acrylic) rods of the required color at some company, or look at a flea market (but it is unlikely to be). And then, as mentioned above, the cheapest / easiest way is a familiar turner. From the description it looks like a simple piece.
According to the material - google "colored acrylic rods" or something like that. Offhand in your region I found this .
Can be printed on a 3D printer, there is a translucent photopolymer . True, you will have to master the program, or at least draw a drawing. But there are simple programs that are easy to learn, such as www.sketchup.com/ .
