What is the best way to encrypt a flash drive?
The situation is this: there is a flash drive, there is a desire to merge the software developed by my organization and me on it. This is done using SVN.
The flash drive must be used on a home machine (XP), a portable machine (Win7) and a work machine (XP), i.e. I will always carry it with me and work only with it.
Further, I would like to encrypt the contents of this flash drive, so that in case of theft / loss, the source codes do not become available to an attacker.
Those. access can be obtained by entering a password (?) to decrypt ... or something like that.
What solutions do you suggest, comrades?
PS It would be nice to get a cross-platform (+Gentoo, +Ubuntu) solution, but not necessarily :)

There are special flash drives with encryption. For example, Imation Defender . I have a similar, old one, however, with a gigantic volume at that time - 512MB, it works fine to this day. Therefore, I advise a ready-made flash drive.
I use this, on habré there was a review somewhere www.corsair.com/en/usb-drive/flash-padlock-2-usb-drive/flash-padlock-2-16gb-usb-flash-drive.html
You can format the flash drive to NTFS and encrypt it with built-in EFS on one of the computers. Export the key on it, import it to the second machine, then the files from the flash drive will be opened on it. As a result, you will get the absence of hemorrhoids with passwords and installation of non-standard programs, and the flash drive will only work on these two computers.
Maybe you have not heard of such a flash drive. 256 bit hardware encryption. Entered the password incorrectly 10 times - the flash drive is being formatted. It also failed to open it, since the chip immediately breaks. I apologize in advance for a possible offtopic.
TrueCrypt in conjunction with TC is very convenient and practical.
