What is the best way to create a walking route using Google Maps or OpenStreetMap?

Hello. There is a need to create a map with several routes for walking. There are two analogues in the examples:

- alltrails.com/explore
- rutrail.org/trails/106/

There is not enough knowledge or understanding of what API is used, if at all.

A very similar option to take as a basis is https://rutrail.org/trails/106/ . But added to the question about the route on the map - how to make a graph of the elevation difference, which shows at the same time following the route on the map as in rutrail.org?

I ask for help in understanding in which direction to dig. Thanks to all who responded in advance for the answers and kicks in the right direction.
