What is the best storage to use for storing files (psd, ai)?
Hey!
Since I was faced with the issue of file storage, I am engaged in design and for many years of work a bunch of psd and ai files have accumulated. On a laptop SSD 250GB, there is an external HDD WD 1TB. I periodically drop (make copies) the working folder there. As a result, at the moment there is no more storage space on the laptop, and I temporarily came to the conclusion that I deleted the working folder from the laptop, leaving only frequently used files. Now, once a day, I transfer the created files to an external drive, if I need some old file, I open it from an external one. And now the question arose of how best to store files ?!
1) Increase the volume of ssd in the laptop, I have Pro Retina Late 13 and in these models, replacing a disk is not a cheap pleasure, but it is not recommended to install non-relatives (feature of models).
2) Buy a faster external drive so that you can work with files from it directly. In fact, this option is similar to what I am currently using, but there is a "BUT" because. I do not have a stationary PC or iMac, I periodically move / take a laptop. And when a disk is connected to it, it is not always convenient, and sometimes I forget and pull out the cable without a safe exit. And once, my external drive stopped working for me (it stopped being displayed), but by some miracle, after half a day, everything suddenly worked.
3) A cloud storage option, but after digging around on the net I did not find anything like that. Almost everything is suitable for documents, videos, photos, music. But so that there would be graphic files and access to them (like how Figma works but through Ps / Ai) I did not find this.
The question is, who stores the files, how and where?
If option number 2 is obvious - Recommend an external drive up to 1TB that would fit the requirements (quick access, speed, security). Not SDD and what would not be like a wing from a Boeing. As an option, I stared at the AirPort Time Capsule (such as one apple eco system). But I was embarrassed by the fact that she was removed from the office. site. Yes, and somehow there are not many reviews about it, mostly they buy for the Internet.
In general, I will be grateful for any help in this matter.

How did you not find cloud storage? If you are a professional designer and you really care about your sources, there is Adobe Creative Cloud for you, yes it is paid, for:
1. You will have access to files on any computer and you can open them in one click.
2. By obtaining a license for the programs, you can exchange various components between programs, such as vector objects, photos, text styles, etc.
3. It's safe, Adobe provides enough disk space to upload sources there.
I've been using them for quite some time now.
