What is the best resolution to draw a layout with a vertical menu?
Good day.
Friends, tell me in what resolution for the desktop is it better to draw the layout? Why do most of them still draw at 1440 in width and 1170-1200 in content width, and not 1920px? (Isn't 1920 better for a typesetter?) What standards are generally accepted and used?
Also a question about the grid: if the menu on the site is mounted vertically, is there a ready-made grid for this whole thing? And how to arrange the content in such a placement? Or is the same regular 1200px grid used?
Thanks a lot.

On any site, the main thing is information. Accordingly, the width of the site is usually selected based on the width of the main text column. Typographers, for the main column, recommend a text width of 45 to 75 characters. If you make your website 1920 pixels wide, then you will most likely end up with an unreasonably wide column of text that is hard to read.
you sketched something here permissions, standards are determined by the resolution of device screens,
everything else is at the discretion of the designer, and it is advisable not to forget about the indents.
