trello.com is a very handy kanban board.
cards, deadlines, statuses, descriptions, checklists, copying the project (board) and the tasks themselves.
And yes, it's free
had a positive experience with planfix and worksection / both can recommend.
Wunderlist - There is an application for all possible platforms, it is convenient for maintaining checklists, and not for complex tasks, the free version is enough for the eyes.
Doit.im - There is an app for OSX/iOS.
Try OmniFocus - standard $40, pro - $80
And for good, of course, you need to install redmine on the server, especially if someone else is involved in projects.
Try Microsoft OneNote, it is available for all common platforms, it supports Word markup, heading levels, indexing of notes, etc. You can add a bunch of different flags to one "tick" according to the degree of importance or purpose, you can do triple daws, such as the first line of the item is done, the second, the whole point is fulfilled.
