The main advantage of MacOS over Linux is the ability to run Adobe products without additional dancing with a tambourine. Plus, it so happened historically that support for console buns (Node.js, etc.) in Windows is rather mediocre. Designers choose a poppy simply because it can also do Linux and Windows, but it has less trouble in terms of mastering and dancing with tambourines.
I have to keep a Windows machine running Adobe and a line for everything else.
I bought a poppy, and in principle I don’t need anything else)
Although I am an ardent Linuxoid, I agree with Macos in this case. Just be sure to check all your creations on a "regular" pc - a cheap laptop with a lousy matrix. Otherwise, it can play a cruel joke on you.
@d00mko said correctly but I would like to clarify one point.
"The main advantage of MacOS over Linux" - I would say that Apple's main advantage over PC is gorgeous screens that convey colors perfectly. This is the first thing that struck me when I switched from PC to Apple. And the main thing for a designer is just that.
And it depends on what you are going to do - Sharepoint, .Net (MVC, WebForms) - of course, Windows.
Linux - if it's a "classic" LAMP stack - Linux, Mysql, Php, Nginx, Apache and sites will run on unix systems.
If some kind of js thread or platform-independent thing, then you can write it, most likely under all platforms.
On a powerful poppy, there is no problem to keep a couple of windows with IE through Parallels, for example, so you can do full-fledged layout.
