What is the best language to learn for the web right now?
A question for connoisseurs and those who follow the latest web innovations! What do you think is the best thing to study now? The choice is huge - php, ruby, python and even node.js I’m considering .. I still want php, because it’s easier and there is no experience, but they say it will go far very soon and we don’t see it anymore, but what do you think ? According to the ratings, php is slowly but surely sliding down and everyone predicts his death in 5 years. In general, what do you advise me to learn now for the backend?

Puff has been predicting death for 10 years already. now, a little more, but still nothing.
this is not to the fact that it must be taught, but to the degree of reliability of such forecasts.
Well, I never understood people who try to drive themselves into some kind of framework.
why ask what language to learn when you can learn several and choose what you like.
Approximately in this priority php/js/node.js > java > python > ruby.
JavaScript - on the client and on the server
is the best thing in nature,
and if you need a super-productive server - write it in C or pluses
JavaScript (React, Angular, Node.JS, Express) - for starters.
Next, Golang is useful.
Every language has its purpose, its advantages and disadvantages.
There is also the popularity of the language, convenience, the availability of libraries ...
All this can be understood in theory by reading a bunch of articles and documentation, or you can feel it in practice.
But in the end, the main question is why?
In my opinion, learning the language is simply not realistic now. Understanding which of the languages will dominate and how much is also quite difficult. You can learn the syntax and learn how to use it to solve your problems.
It is hardly worth chasing newfangled technologies whose version is 0.xx or a little more than 1.xx
