What is the best language for gamedev?
Hi, friend!
I've always wanted to get into game development. Wanting one thing, doing it is another. The trouble is that I don't know any programming language. Knowledge in computer science, too, the cat cried, because I studied in the humanities. But, I feel that it is interesting to me. Game development is exactly what I would like to try to realize myself. What is the actual question?
There are many EPs, but as I understand it, it is worth choosing one of the two, namely C # or Java. I plan to make games for a PC (for a start, I think 2d is enough with my head).
What do you recommend? Which way to choose? Where to start diving? What are the pros and cons of the chosen language? What engines are best / most promising to use?
-----
p.s. saw online coursefor learning Java - what do you think? Is it worth it if the choice is made in this particular language?

Thank you very much for your answers!

I join the opinion of GavriKos better than Unity, I advise you to start not with books, but immediately with unity lessons, otherwise you will lose your enthusiasm very quickly, make some simple game, like a square walks around the field and collects something, make buttons on the field and boxes which can be moved by pushing them so that these buttons open doors. Start doing and you will understand whether it is for you or not.
About Java - nonsense. Java has few games. And for android they write in c ++.
Next - if you want to make games, but you are a humanist - try your hand at Computer Graphic, game design, etc. Game programming is far from a trivial task that requires experience.
Очень похожие языки. Для ПК под Unity - c#. На андроид тоже можно шарп, но лучше java.
